To adjust grill burner air shutters and surface burner air shutters
(some models)
The left handair shuttercontrolsthe rear halfof the grill burner,orthe rear surface
burner.Therighthandshuttercontrolsthe fronthalfofthegrillburnerorthefrontsurface
burner.
Slide air shutter backward or forward to
increaseordecreasethesizeoftheairopening. __NGRILL BURNERAIRSHUTFER
Air shutters fit snugly on the burner, so a __E_'_ D_
screwdriverblade may be requiredto make
this adjustment, Observe change in flame

flame.
This appliancehas been shippedfrom the factorywith Lo and Med flame settings
adjustedfor usewith naturalgas and average installations.There isa wide varietyof
conditionscausedbyaltitudeandgas mixturescontrolledby utilitycompanieswhichwill
vary and affectthe gas flameand performance.Adjustmentsshouldbe made at time
of installation.If conditionschange, follow the procedures outlined belowto adjust the
Lo setting.
To adjust the Lo setting
1. Lightburnerand setcontrolknobfor lowflame.
2. Remove controlknobfrom valve stem.
CAUTION: Never use a metal blade to pry
knob off. If knobcannot be easily removed

tuck the foldsof a clothdishtowelunder the TOREOUCE
knob skirt and pull the towel forward with _ _lr_
steady, even pressure.
3. Insert a slender, thin-blade screwdriver into
the recessat centerofvalvestemand engage COU_RCLOC.W,SE
blade withslot in adjustingscrew. TO_NCR_SEF_ME
SIZE
4. Turn center stem adjustingscrew slightlyto _
set flamesize.Note:Turnclockwiseto reduce
or counterclockwiseto increaseflame size.
5. Replacecontrolknobwhen adjustmentiscompleted.
Properadjustmentwill producea stable,steadyblueflame of minimumsize. The final
adjustmentshouldbe checked by turning knobfrom Hi to Lo several times without
extinguishingthe flame. Thisadjustment,at the Lo setting,will automaticallyprovide
the proper flame size at Mealsetting. 13
