1. Place oven rack on the rack positionsuggestedinthe chart on page 39.
Distancefrom broilingelementdependson foodsbeing prepared. Rack position
4o (offsetrackin position#4) is usuallyrecommendedunlessotherwisestated.
2. TouchBroil Pad.
IndicatorWord BROIL willflash and Display will show three dashes.
Note; If more than five seconds elapses between touching Broil Pad and
touching a number pad, the oven is not set and Display will return to previous
Display.
3. Touch the appropriate number pad(s).
The first number pad touched will enter "HI" in the Display.
The oven has a variablebroil feature which meansthat a lower temperature can be
selected. After"HI" appearsintheDisplay,touchthe appropriatenumber padsfor
the desiredtemperature. Temperaturecan beenteredin5° increments. Use"HI"
broilfor mostbroiloperations, Use variablebroilfor delicateand long-termitems.
Fivesecondsafterentering"HI" orfoursecondsafter enteringa temperature,the
broilelementwill come on and the IndicatorWordsBROIL and ON will remainin
the Display. If the variablebroilfeature was selected,the IndicatorWordON will
cycle with the element,
Example: If at 4 o'clockyou setthe ovenfor broil("HI"), the Displaywill show:

4. Place food on broiler pan provided with oven, Broil element will preheat in 5
minutes. After broil element is red, place food in oven. Oven doorMUST be left
open at broilstopI_osition.
S. Touch Cancel Off Padto turn off oven when food is cooked.
NOTE; Afan comes on during the BROIL cycle. If it does not, the ovenbroil element
willcycleon and off. Ifthe fan does not operate, contactyourauthorized Jenn-
Air Service Contractor for repair.
