Managing Interface Properties
Chapter 5 Managing Object Properties 151
To Modify Individual VC Properties
1 In the Network portion of the navigation tree, right-click the VC and choose
Properties.
The VC Properties screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 75:
Figure 75 VC Properties Screen
The policy name and policy direction are displayed as collected from the MIB.
2 In QoS Class, specify the QoS class, according to the following standard
descriptions:
■ Class A: constant bit rate (CBR); continuous stream at steady rate, such as TDM
multiplexer traffic
■ Class B: real-time variable bit rate (RT-VBR); bursty and end-to-end delay is
critical, such as interactive video conferencing
■ Class C: non–real-time variable bit rate (NRT-VBR); bursty but end-to-end delay
is not critical, such as video playback or video mail messages
■ Class D: available bit rate (ABR) or unspecified bit rate (UBR); “best effort”
services; UBR has no QoS guarantees; ABR has minimum cell rate and low cell
loss
You can also specify
Unknown.
3 In Label, specify a new label to be displayed in the navigation tree.
4 In Bandwidth, enter the VC bandwidth. This value is usually obtained during the
discovery procedure; however, it can be either unavailable or inexact in the device
MIB. If you need it, enter the correct value to ensure that the input and output
indicators of this VC use the most appropriate scales.
