To configure a trap host user:
1 If you haven’t already done so, select the traps that the ETEP will generate (see “Traps” on page 315).
2 Under SNMPv3 Trap Hosts, click Add.
3 In the V3 Trap Host dialog box, configure the trap host users as described in Table 95 and then click
OK. Traps that are enabled on the appliance will be sent to the designated host.The trap host user
information must be configured on both the ETEP and trap recipient.
4 To finish configuring trap host users, do one of the following:
Click Add to add another trap host.
Click Modify to edit the trap host settings.
Click Delete to remove a trap host.

Field Description
IP Address The IP address of the host that will receive the traps generated by the
ETEP.
With ETEP software version 1.6 and later, you can use either IPv4 or IPv6
addresses.
User name Name that identifies the ETEP’s account to the trap host. The user name /
IP address combination must be unique.
The user name can be 1-255 characters in length. The following characters
are not allowed: < > & “ * ? / \ : |
Security level noAuthNoPriv: provides no authentication and no privacy
authNoPriv: provides authentication but no encryption
authPriv: provides authentication and encryption
The default is noAuthNoPriv.
