Enter Known
Media into an
Archive
All media can be classified as known or unknown. Unknown
media were never introduced into a VolServ system or were
removed using the Export Media command. Known media are
contained in an archive, are checked out using the Check-out
Media command, or are intransit to another archive as a result
of a Move Media command, Mount Media command, or media
migration.
Two basic ways to reenter known media into an archive are: the
Check-in Media command and the unsolicited enter and
AutoEnter methods.
