To Phase Lock Using the
Counted Burst Mode
(requires Option 001)
In the counted burst mode, you can synchronize phase-lock signals using an
external trigger from the faceplate Ext Trig terminal or VXIbus TTLTRG
lines. The following statements show you how to synchronize two function
generators in the counted burst mode using the Ext Trig terminal (send the
commands to both function generators):
Send these commands to both function generators:
APPL:SIN 10E+3, 5.0
Set both to the same frequency
BM:NCYC INF
Set burst count to “
INFINITY"
TRIG:SOUR EXT
Set trigger source to external
BM:STAT ON Enable the BMod LAST
Send this command only to the "left" function generator:
OUTP:TRIG:IMM source trigger signal from "left"
instrument to rught instrument
To use TTLTRG lines send these commands to both generators:
APPL:SIN 10E+3, 5.0
Set both to the same frequency
BM:NCYC INF
Set burst count to “
INFINITY"
OUTP:TTLT4 ON
Enable TTLT4 line to source
TRIG:SOUR TTLT4
Set trigger source toTTLT4 line
BM:STAT ON
Enable the burst mode LAST
Send this command only to the "left" function generator:
OUTP:TRIG:IMM
source trigger signal from "left"
You don’t have to connect between the Ext Trig terminals when using the
TTLTRG lines.
