Remote Connection Access
Overview
Remote Access is available for Contact Centre Modules as an application, giving
customers and maintainers the ability to diagnose faults and configure the Contact
Centre Modules, INDeX and Voice applications remotely. There are two Remote
Access Module options, one is an internal remote access modem which comes
preinstalled and preconfigured with both options of CCM Server PC. The other
option is an external modem ready for connection to the INDeX CT Server Cassette.
Avaya utilise Microsoft’s RAS (Remote Access Software) to connect to the remote
PC, making a virtual network connection between the headquarters' PC and the
remote site. This allows the Client applications to be run at the headquarters site as
if they were on the LAN. (Response may be slower due to the reduced bandwidth of
the connection). In addition, files may be copied to and from the host PC.
The headquarters' PC may be any Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 PC configured
to run RAS with a Remote Access Module connected, or suitable equivalent
modem.
